While many states have a beginning taxation rate after an income threshold has been met, like North Dakota, once an individual has made $75,000, they are taxed at a rate of 1.95%. But here in Minnesota, once you reach $47,000 threshold, you are taxed at a rate of 6.8%. That's almost four times the taxation rate as North Dakota. As you may know, Wisconsin and South Dakota do not have an income tax, yet they provide their children with free public preschool. Minnesota has one of the highest income taxation rates in the country. The same individual who makes $47,000 in Nebraska is taxed at 2.4%, one third of the taxation rate of Minnesota.

Property taxes in Minnesota are among the highest in the country, Montana collects .79% and Colorado has a property tax rate of .45%. Minnesota property tax rate is 1.75%, one of the highest, higher  than Hawaii, higher than Florida and neither Hawaii nor Florida have a state income tax. You are being taxed to death, and the Minnesota government is spending your money without oversight. If elected Governor, I will put an immediate pause on property tax collection through executive authority pending a state audit of state revenues and expenditures.
