Minnesota Businesses were forced to close their doors not once but twice during the COVID-19 pandemic. Obviously this hurt many businesses as they struggled to make ends meet during the closures. Data points show no significant differences in mortality rates from COVID-19 between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Wisconsin did not shut down their businesses, While Minnesota Governor Walz closed businesses twice. The result was a catastrophic job loss for thousands of Minnesotans, and eventually led to the permanent closure of several hundred businesses in the greater Twin Cities area and rural Minnesota. As, Governor, I promise to never close businesses for what should have been left to the discretion of the public. I do not believe the government has the authority nor the right to dictate what FDA approved goods and services a resident should have access to. Clearly the evidence has presented itself and it's clear, it made no impact on the overall mortality rates between the two states.
